A big event for the Immersion course is the start of our back country trekking and farm stays. After a day or three acclimating to the country, we will start off early one morning in some 4x4 and the minimal amount of personal materials as possible and head for a trailhead. We set out on an all-day hike through Cerro Las Vueltas national reserve. We have other days of hiking, but if you can do this one, you can do those others! The images below are the approximate GPS tracks and elevation profiles. I say approximate because we are in tropical forest and sometimes the satellite doesn't always have a good read on us. But it gives you an idea of the hike. Image 1 is from start to lunch, image 2 is lunch to the first farm stay.
