Summary from Announcement:
This position serves as a Hydrologist with the Northern Research Station, Center for Research on Ecosystem Change Work Unit, with responsibility for assisting in, conducting, interpreting and reporting hydrologic research in northern forest ecosystems. The Hydrologist participates in hydrologic investigations and studies required for planning and design of long term environmental monitoring programs and multi-purpose projects focused on physical and chemical components of the hydrologic cycle, including precipitation, streamflow, soil water, ground water, evaporation and transpiration.
This position records study results that include evaluation of data, trend analysis, and recommendations, and interpret the findings in terms of scientific significance. The Hydrologist works with scientists and other staff to devise and perform routine data analysis and synthesis tasks of hydrologic, meteorological and related environmental data and interprets the findings in terms of scientific significance.
This position consults with other resource specialists in assessing the impacts of proposed programs and projects on watershed values. Represents the agency with various state and federal agencies concerning soils and water issues for environmental programs.
