Graduate students can work on an existing project examining how Montana agricultural producers integrate climate information into decisions related to drought and water variability or students can develop new projects at the food-energy-water nexus. Both students will be trainees in the UM BRIDGES graduate program, a new NSF-funded National Research Traineeship (NRT) program (note: NRT recently replaced IGERT at NSF). The UM BRIDGES program is designed to provide trainees with interdisciplinary, translational, and professional skills that complement dissertation/thesis research and enable them to compete for a broad range of jobs after graduation. In addition to campus and field-based coursework, trainees participate in workshops, internships, co-labs, and international experiences. For more information about the UM BRIDGES program, please visit: www.umt.edu/bridges. UM BRIDGES is recruiting a cohort of students from a range of disciplines. However, students in the positions described here will work with Dr. Laurie Yung on social science research.
